Are you there yet?
Have you figured out that this is the new normal, and it’s just the way life is going to be, so you have to get used to what is?
My daughter woke up yesterday morning to her son having a mild seizure. I say mild, because he’s had a few that were not mild, but since this was the first one she’s witnessed, it was horrifying. Any seizure when it’s your child can scare the hell out of you. The reality is, you have to do what you have to do. You wake up, you take care of the child, and you make this day the best day ever, because it’s the day you’re living, today.
Recently, we elected a new president here in the USA.
There are people here who have decided the world is coming to an end… No. It isn’t. The conservatives thought it had eight years ago, and then again four years ago, and we managed to survive those terrifying elections, scared to death that our businesses would end. Some did. Scared to death that we wouldn’t recognize our lives in eight years… We don’t. And worried absolutely SICK that what happened at the top level of government would affect our lives at the lowest levels. Well, it did. But we survived, and we didn’t burn down businesses in our home towns, stir up riots, and stop traffic. We kept living. We kept working as long as we had jobs, then we focused on survival. That’s what real people do. People of principle become resilient, and they focus on survival, making every day the best day ever, because that’s the day they’re living.
Resilience is what happens when you live the moment, each moment, appreciating what brought you to it, and exuberantly facing where it takes you, because there is a NEW moment coming. Be ready. Be resilient!
